Our Views
All of the Velo-City team feel that a lot more cycle routes need to be installed. Besides making cycling much more enjoyable this would be safer than riding on roads. Also cycle paths would make journeys more relaxing as you wouldn't live with the threat of being knocked down or receiving abuse from impatient drivers. We feel cycle routes being installed throughout Scotland would benifit the nation.

Nearest Route There is an insufficient amount of areas to cycle in our local area. There is hardly any, if all cycle routes nearby. one of the closet cycle paths is the East Kilbride to Stathaven route which is not handy for us or anyone else in Hamilton.

The only area in Hamilton that I find is suitable for cycling is Strathclyde Park. This area is vast in size and the scenery is quite nice too,

  What Should Be Done??
We feel that the council should mark cycling routes not just in Hamilton but across South Lanarkshire. There is constant road works throughout South Lanarkshire so how hard would it be to install a few cycle paths here and there??

The government also continuesly say that people should use there cars less often, but how are people supposed to do this when cycle routes from major towns are non-existant??
